The Silver Lion Story
Louise Wraith, Owner says:-
“I came to Exeter in 1984 to study painting at Exeter College of Art and Design. After working in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum beyond graduation, I was given an opportunity as the manager of the Silver Lion in Exeter. I loved the job and continued to work here for many years until my boss, the founder of the Silver Lion retired. She sold this business to me and I have continued in her footsteps for 10 years.
The first task I undertook was to establish a workshop on the premises, employed a jeweller and commenced an apprenticeship. The trading and services have continued and increased ever since and we are now a well established and thriving local business of which I am immensely proud.
I trained myself to be a restringer and I am always looking into new projects and skills. I am currently training to be a hand-engraver and have a long term interest in enamelling. My ambition is to eventually offer classes and workshops in the skills I have acquired.”
