Established in 1995, toot garook is a vibrant, design-led gifts and lifestyle shop spread over two floors of a period building, directly opposite the Royal Albert Memorial Museum on Queen Street.

The personally-sourced product range is diverse and eclectic and includes a stunning range of women’s clothing, kimonos and pyjamas, accessories, jewellery, things for the home, furniture, a fantastic range of fairy lights, as well as many other individual, cool and quirky pieces. Many of the products are hand made and they really do have something for every occasion and everyone – even men!

Unique And Special

Customers always comment on how refreshing it is to find a shop that offers something unique and special – a pleasant change to the branded products and endless chain stores found in every town across the country. The building itself has many original features, including the spectacular stained glass windows on the first floor.

Owner Judith says:-

We pride ourselves on our independent status and that we have been established for 18 years (14 at the current address) however, we never rest on our laurels, frequently introducing new stock to reflect current trends whilst maintaining a timeless sense of style across our range and never compromising on quality.

Our team go out of their way to find those extra special products and are always on hand to assist and give advice. We also provide free gift wrapping on all purchases and a buy now, collect later service.

Judith is originally from Australia, but moved to Exeter in 1991, and has travelled the world extensively. Toot Garook is a small seaside town near Melbourne and is aboriginal for the sound of croaking frogs – hence the frog logo.
