An Exeter Cake Company

Cakeadoodledo is predominantly a cake company. Top notch cakes, all made on the premises at Deanery Place, Palace Gate, using as many local ingredients as possible. There are no short cuts here. Everything is made from scratch. Kate loves her customers and along with her staff prides themselves on excellent service and, quite frankly, pretty good cake.

Kate, the owner, says:

“We are obsessed with cake and make a lot of them – for scoffing straight away or for grand celebrations or weddings. Having started the company in 2006 in a very small way, we are now a bit bigger but our aims and objectives are the same: to make delicious cakes, with the best ingredients and a great deal of love and care.”

Cake Shop And Café

The Cakeadoodledo Shop and Café opened in May 2013. Here you can actually see Kate and staff at work, smell the cakes baking and sit and sip coffee or have a bite of lunch while perusing our linen ranges, beautiful gifts or having a flick through one of Kate’s baking books.

Enjoy time out in the lovely courtyard garden and put the world to rights over a cup of proper tea and a piece of cake or take a box of cakes away for later.

Cakeadoodledo is owned by Kate Shirazi. Art college, fashion journalism and emergency nursing have all featured in her rather bizarre CV but baking is where her heart lies.

Having worked from a rural commercial kitchen for years, this is her first step into shop and café life. Kate has written six books on cake making and has also designed a range of pretty kitchen linen. Visit the website or visit the shop to view and purchase these items
