Art Venue’s Café Bar
The café bar at Exeter Phoenix is the buzzing heart of the South West’s biggest multi-form arts venue. They serve fantastic coffees and home-made pastries, and have recently launched a brand new menu with a contemporary Eastern Mediterranean twist.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a great kid’s selection, it’s the idea place to meet friends, bring the family, or enjoy a lovingly prepared meal before a show.
What’s more, our large terrace is one of the few sunny spots where you can enjoy lunch in the city centre.
The unique menu boasts a delicious array of rustic dishes using traditional recipes from around the world fused with a fabulous contemporary twist. Each of the dishes is homemade, the ingredients are locally sourced and they are all made with a passion for nutrition and fantastic flavour.
Phoenix Café Bar also offer bespoke meal-deals to compliment some of their events. Enjoy a Chilean meal before sitting down to watch the latest in Chilean cinema, or grab a bargain by purchasing a meal-deal ticket for a concert, entitling you to a two course meal before the show.
All profits from the Exeter Phoenix Café Bar go back to the Exeter Phoenix charity, so you can now enjoy tasty food, knowing that you are supporting your local arts charity.
A few words from Phoenix chef, Maia:
“The main influence of my cooking comes from Jerusalem were I lived till 1998. I have learned my best dishes and some secrets from great family kitchens whilst growing up and helping out. From the best breakfast in Exeter to a great dumpling soup on a rainy Friday, classic traditional hummus and my special falafels, I make a large range of traditional and eastern mediterranean dishes, all to be enjoyed at the Phoenix Café Bar.”
And as the busy café of a venue committed to bringing the best in performance, music and contemporary art to Exeter, it’s not unusual to see a famous face at the bar. What’s more, even if you just popped in for a bite to eat, with sometimes up to eight events every day going on in the building, you might just stumble upon something wonderful!
