Moko – Contemporary Gifts

Moko is best described as a contemporary gift and accessory shop with an eclectic mix of stylish clothes, jewellery and scarves. It also has a selection of unique furniture and interiors personally sourced from Vietnam and Indonesia, and a wide choice of branded UK homewares.

Moko is unique due to the fact that many of the products available for sale are personally sourced in South East Asia by the owners, ensuring that no other shop can offer the same dynamic range of goods which are invariably produced by the suppliers themselves.

The Moko Story

The owners of Moko, who are a local couple, decided on a change in career path in 1996 and embarked on a year long visit to South East Asia in search of interesting yet commercial, hand made local products. During this time they travelled to every country except Cambodia, which was closed to visitors at the time, and Burma, which was politically incorrect.

The trip encouraged them to open Moko in Magdalen Rd, St Leonards in the year 2000, and after 2 years of successful trading moved to larger premises in Gandy St where 2 years ago they celebrated 10 years of trading.
